About us

Mission

The East Polk Heritage Center is a destination where visitors experience the past through educational opportunities and interactive demonstrations. We believe in the power of our history to ignite the imagination, stimulate thought, and inspire people to learn from traditions to help shape a better future.

OUR HISTORY

The East Polk Heritage Center was established in 1986. With the donation of the historic L.W. Larson House from Allen and Judy Potvin also in 1986 and the availability of land in Melland Park from the City of Fosston, the vision of a museum by founding members was achieved. Additional buildings were added to our campus with construction of a replica pioneer cabin in 1996 and the moving of the Moen School in 2010. In 2018, the Stardig Cabin was donated by the Ostenson family and moved from its original location south of McIntosh. EPHC is governed and operated by a volunteer board of directors with the support of volunteers, memberships and other financial contributions.
