The East Polk Heritage Center (EPHC) has, for more than 30 years, enlightened hundreds of children and adults through exhibitions, events and special programs. We present and display the history of early settlement in the villages and townships that comprise East Polk County. Our campus in Fosston, MN, houses an 1880’s Victorian home, 1905 Country School, replica pioneer log cabin and an original homestead cabin. Each building contains period artifacts that define life in the late 1800’s through the turn of the century.
EPHC desires to build a History Museum in our rural northwest Minnesota community. We need more suitable space to display the historic artifacts that convey the impact early business and industry had for our region, not to mention the human factor – the diverse cultural traditions that were brought here from other parts of the country and from immigrants who came to make their new home here. This building will house permanent and rotating exhibit galleries, performance stage, community room, research library, as well as temperature and humidity-controlled artifact storage and administrative areas.
